As Self Help Graphics & Art enters its 45th anniversary, this exhibition in partnership with the Cal State LA Fine Arts Gallery looks back on decades of artistic innovation and excellence, organizational resilience and expanded activity. We also take this time to look forward toward an exciting evolution of Chicana/o and Latinx aesthetics. Founded by Franciscan nun Sister Karen Boccalero and local Chicano artists Carlos Bueno, Antonio Ibañez, and Frank Hernandez inside a garage in East L.A.
Rodriguez returns to the Luckman performing his classic hits and the songs that helped shape his fascinating life. Rodriguez began his music career in the '60s, but without any enthusiastic response, he was ultimately let go by his label and forced to work outside the music industry.
