Cal State LA will undertake a comprehensive and integrative redesign of our lower division math and Quantitative Reasoning (QR) courses, approach to academic preparation, QR faculty development and training, and academic support services for QR courses. This plan is being developed in consultation with a 15-member QR Coordinating Team that includes faculty and staff from the Departments of Mathematics, Economics and Statistics, and Psychology; the Charter College of Education, Student Affairs/EOP, Academic Support Services, Early Start, Assessment, and the Center for Effective Teaching and Learning (CETL). We are committed to an inclusive process that involves stakeholders across campus and in the community, and that is student-centered, faculty led, and administratively supported. We are also committed to ensuring a solid QR foundation as a bridge to each student’s discipline of study.
