What is ALEKS PPL?

ALEKS PPL is an online math assessment, preparation and placement system. It is an individualized adaptive learning tool designed to determine what you know, what you don't know, and what you are most ready to learn in order to create the best learning plan that gets you to the finish line in the best possible way. It offers incoming Cal State LA students the opportunity to place into calculus.

Who can take the ALEKS PPL?

ALEKS PPL is free for incoming calculus-bound Cal State LA students. Students are given 3 proctored attempts.

How to get started?

To register for ALEX PPL, go to, and select SIGN UP NOW! A class code will be given by the math department. For questions about getting started, contact the Mathematics Department.


When does the ALEKS PPL exam takes place?
