Center for Engagement, Service and the Public Good

President Covino established the Center for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good in his first year to help the University build and cultivate new partnerships with the region. The center is Cal State LA’s home base for volunteerism, GO East LA and #IServeLA, our campuswide service-learning program. WellBeingU

Cal State LA students face significant challenges as they navigate the demands of academic excellence, family responsibilities, and jobs. That’s why President Covino and First Lady Debbie Covino launched the WellBeingU initiative, which provides resources and programs to help students achieve academic success. President's Council

President Covino has established his President’s Council, which is comprised of accomplished business and civic leaders who will help strengthen the University’s role as a premier public comprehensive university. The council will offer input and advice as the University solidifies community and corporate partnerships, launches innovative academic and research initiatives and pushes forward with an ambitious branding campaign.
