FRESHMEN

Congratulations on completing high school and being accepted to Cal State LA! Your educational journey is just beginning.

Cal State LA offers new student orientation during the summer (June-August) for students admitted for the fall semester, and during the winter (January) for students admitted for the spring semester. First-time freshmen are strongly encouraged to attend Orientation in person.

Freshmen will begin receiving email invitations to sign up for Orientation in May 2024. Please follow the steps in the email to complete your Orientation reservation. Dates for SUMMER 2024 are coming soon!

First-Year Connections (Summer Only)

Want to get a head start over the summer? Students who enroll in the Summer Connections 2024 program will have the chance to complete a GE math or English course before the start of the fall semester. Provisionally admitted freshmen should check their Cal State LA email for important information regarding their participation in our summer program.
