Meet the Panel:

Phillip Marrone

Phillip Marrone ‘65, Poli Sci

Phillip (Phil) Marrone is of counsel/retired partner and attorney of Marrone Robinson Frederick & Foster in Burbank. His background is in products liability, general liability, fraud and arson matters, bad faith litigation, and premises liability and coverage matters. He received his legal education at Loyola University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1969.  He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1970.  Mr. Marrone is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators, American Arbitration Association; Arbitrator, Los Angeles Superior Court; Los Angeles Superior Court Settlement Officer Program.  He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association; Defense Research Institute; International Association of Defense Counsel; Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.  He was president of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel in 1987.  He is a Continuing Education of the Bar lecturer and a member of the University of California, Hastings College of Law, College of Advocacy Faculty.

Mr. Marrone is now "of counsel" and semi-retired. In 2003, Phil was honorary director of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association.

Leonard Torres

Leonard Torres ‘65, Poli Sci
 

Since beginning his practice in 1974, Len has tried numerous cases for a variety of clients. Len has represented individuals, businesses and public entities in partnership disputes, transactional matters and lawsuits concerning professional liability, auto accidents, personal injury, products liability, employment and construction site accidents.

After graduating from the UCLA School of Law, Len began trying cases as an associate attorney with both plaintiff and defense litigation firms.  

Drawing on his experience as a litigator and USMC combat veteran, Len founded the law firm of Torres & Brenner in 1981 in order to provide thoughtful and effective trial representation in a service-oriented, small-firm setting.

Today, Len volunteers in the community to help young veterans. He serves on the boards of the Marines' Memorial Association, the Marines' Memorial Theater and Huntington Medical Research Institutes and understands the needs of small businesses, non-profits and individual clients.

Georgiana Pacheco
Georgiana Pacheco, Psych/Poli Sci
 
Ms. Pacheco is an Associate Attorney at George Pacheco & Associates. She was born and raised in her hometown Montebello, California.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Gia has over 10 years experience as a paralegal working in the areas of family law, unlawful detainer, estate planning, and business matters. Gia earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Political Science at Whittier College. Gia earned her Juris Doctorate from Glendale University College of Law, where she was received a top score in Conflicts.

Roxanne Hernandez

Roxanne Hernandez ’06, Criminal Justice

 

Roxanne graduated from Cal State LA with a BA in Criminal Justice. She is an associate attorney at Keese Hargraves and previously served at Sullivan, Krieger, Truong, Spagnola & Klausner LLP. She received her JD at Whittier Law School in 2011. Practices divorce and family law.

 

Alan Romero
 Alan Romero ‘03,Poli Sci
 

Mr. Romero received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University in Los Angeles, where he was accepted at the age of fifteen. Mr. Romero then went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in the accelerated two-year SCALE program. Mr. Romero is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Forensic Interviewer. Mr. Romero presently serves as the Co-Chair of the California Employment Lawyers Association’s Immigrant Employee Rights Committee and a Director-at-Large for the alumni associations of Southwestern Law School and California State University at Los Angeles. A fifth-generation Angeleno, Mr. Romero is also fluent in Spanish.  Mr. Romero also is the Mock Trial instructor at Pasadena High School’s Law and Public Service Academy.

Jose Jordan

Law Office of Jose Jordan is a law firm that was created by Jose R. Jordan.  The firm prides itself in providing honest and superior legal services.  Our aim is to assist the community by helping people achieve the American Dream of United States residency, citizenship, freedom, and justice.  We concentrate in Immigration and Criminal law.

Jose R. Jordan is a Guatemalan born immigrant who understands the undocumented person’s struggle.  He obtained two Bachelor’s degrees from California State University of Los Angeles in Prelaw Political Science and Liberal Studies.  He continued his education by obtaining a Juris Doctor from Glendale University College of Law.  Mr. Jordan’s immigration experience began as a paralegal and continued through various positions at some of the top immigration law firms in Los Angeles, California.  Attorney Jose Jordan has continued his involvement with the community by volunteering for the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (H.E.L.P), Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS), and the Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project.
