Becoming a Member


  • Sociology major or minor

  • At least junior standing

  • Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3

  •  Minimum of 3.0 GPA for sociology courses taken at CSULA

  • Must have completed at least 4 regular courses in Sociology at CSULA


  • Completion of at least two quarters of graduate study in sociology at CSULA

  • Graduate GPA of 3.0 or better

  • Continuing enrollment in the graduate program


Membership fee is $49.00 of which $40.00 entitles you to a lifetime membership in the National AKD, and one year subscription to Sociological Inquiry, a sociology journal. The additional $9.00 is the local chapter fee. Applications can be picked up from the sociology department at King Hall-C3093.
