Chi Epsilon is the only national honor society for Civil Engineering. Our chapter here at Cal State LA has not been a very active one, but since 2018, the chapter has seen great strides in campus presence and awareness, leading to the succesful hosting of the Pacific District Conference at Cal State LA in November 2019.
Our chapter pertains to the Pacific District, a model district for how each other Chi Epsilon district should be: a close-knit community that feels like a second family. We are the only district that holds a conference every year, known as The Pacific District Conference (PDC), in which there are multiple professional development seminars, chapter and committee presentations by student chapter leaders, professional networking, and a career fair exclusive to Chi Epsilon members. It is not all work though, as throughout the weekend of PDC, a friendly competition for the PDC Cup is ongoing. The winner is determined through a series of fun games and activities against other chapters, a Jeopardy-style quiz, presentation skills, and the annual chapter project due at the conference.
The 32nd Chi Epsilon Pacific District Conference was hosted by our chapter at Cal State LA! In November of 2019, the annual conference had an attendance of 162 Chi Epsilon members throughout the Pacific District, with an astonishing 31 companies and graduate programs trying to recruit our attendees!
