About the Symposium

Cal State LA’s Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion/Title IX (OEDI) seeks to provide the campus community with an in-depth look into the minds of those affected by sexual assault to spread awareness and understanding of the impact that trauma has on memory.

The Symposium will feature three panels that will include local experts and staff along with a resource fair, live entertainment and a meditation exercise.

The Symposium is open to all students as well as Cal State LA staff, faculty and administrators. Students engaged in research, public service and student life at Cal State LA are strongly encouraged to attend. The Symposium is a safe space to learn about how sexual assault affects memory. Should any information presented during the Symposium trigger memories of sexual assault, please speak to an on-site specialist from the Student Health Center who will be present during the duration of the Symposium.
