TechSmith Software for Faculty and Staff

This form is used to request the installation of Techsmith Software on any campus computer with the following minimum requirements:

  • PC: Microsoft Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, and Windows 10 (Required: 64 Bit versions only)
  • Mac: Mac OS X 10.10 or later Quartz Extreme support (rendering is not supported on external USB monitors)


  1. Please have computers turned on and connected to the campus wired network.
  2. Requests with missing information may delay the installation of software.


  1. Fill out and submit the form below.
  2. Upon submission, requestors will receive a confirmation e-mail.
  3. Requestors may be contacted for further information or instructions.
  4. Use the following to find out your Computer Name:
    • PC - Click Start.
      • On Windows 7 the computer name is clearly displayed on the right side of the page as "My Computer".

      • On Windows 10 continue clicking in this sequence: Settings→System→About.  "PC Name" is listed on top.
    • Mac - Click Apple to System Preferences then select Sharing. The computer name appears as "Computer Name" on that page.
  5. Please allow up to five business days for fulfillment of the request. All installations occur after 5 p.m. unless requested otherwise. Requests made before 3 p.m. may be processed after 5 p.m. the same day

Installation Preparation

  1. Leave your PC/Mac desktop or laptop turned on and connected to the wired network.
  2. If installed, uninstall/remove previous versions of all Techsmith applications (Camtasia and Snagit).
  3. Close/Quit all applications.
  4. Remain logged on.
  5. Use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to lock your computer before leaving.
