Our Enrichment Workshops cover a range of topics to help you maximize your experience at Cal State LA. EOP students must attend a minimum of three Enrichment Workshops per semester. If you are experiencing academic challenges, please contact your EOP counselor.

Degree Planner Is The Answer To Your College Success

There are TWO (2) pressing questions asked by college students: 1) When will I graduate? 2) What classes do I take next? We will show you how the degree planner answers these two questions and facilitates your degree attainment at Cal State LA.
Communication Skills - Effectively communicating with your professors

EOP Transfer Students will effectively learn and/or improve how to communicate with their professors using key communication skills, tools, and resources. This program will empower students to feel comfortable and ask questions while contacting their professors online, in person, via telephone, and by email.
This event is mainly for Transfer Students, but anyone is welcome.
EOP Live Art & Art Walk Presents: Paint & Sip

What Does This Mean? What Should I Do? Understanding University Policies and How to Best Apply Them When Needed
Facilitator: Ricardo Ramos | Date: Friday, February 25 Time: 1 – 2:30 p.m. | Location: KH LH1
This program introduces students to Cal State LA's academic policies and shows how to apply them when needed. Students will learn the withdrawal process, grade forgiveness, repeat limit exception, leave of absence, financial aid standards, and other policies that may be useful for their academic success. Once the policies are introduced, students will be allowed in groups to review different case scenarios and decide what policy to best apply.

Am I on the Right Track? Educational, Pre-Major and GE Planning for Timely Graduation

Review the Lower Division General Education (GE) chart and University Graduation requirements. Learn Pre-Major (Major Specific Criteria) to declare major. Explore Degree Planner, Major Road Maps, and participate in educational planning activity.

Growth Zone's Study Nights
Facilitator: Liz Sotelo & Vanessa Pacheco | Time: 5 – 8 p.m. | Location: EOP Lounge & ADM Conference Room 4334
Growth Zone Study Nights provide a safe and welcoming space for EOP students to come to study alone or with friends. Students will have access to SI leaders who can support them in Statistics and Pre-calculus, as well as GZ Mentors who can provide on-the-spot study skills advice and mentoring. The program is intended to create a safe and supportive environment aimed at developing a culture of community around learning and support to motivate EOP students to maximize their potential by utilizing their time productively.

Creating A Professional Voicemail Message To Increase Visibility

Text messaging has been the preferred way of communication for college students, until now. By adding a voicemail to your phone, it lets others know you are VIP and that their call matters which in turn increases your professional visibility. Never miss an important call again.

Growth Zone's First-Year Check-up Workshops: Cross The Finish Line Like Success!
Facilitator: Liz Sotelo & Vanessa Pacheco | Date: Friday, April 22 Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Location: BIOL 245
This workshop is aimed at helping students connect to their educational goals to find the motivation to finish the last leg of the semester with strength and clarity. Students will reflect on the reasons why they entered the university, identify barriers/obstacles that stand in front of them, and commit to strategies that will help them reach their semester goals. A practical strategy of this workshop is learning about the Study Cycle, which discusses how effort and success go hand in hand and are genuine ingredients of motivation.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Financial Aid Appeal
