ADVISING CENTER - ALTERNATIVE ADVISING
Advisors will use means of advising that do NOT involve face-to-face gatherings such as Microsoft Teams (available on CSULA Portal), ZOOM, phone call, or email. Our preferred method of advising is Microsoft Teams because it provides several features such as live chats, phone calls, video conferencing, rapid response for quick questions from an advisor during business hours, and a virtual forum (Coming Soon!!) for students to continue building community, all in one platform! We recommend that you download the Microsoft Teams App on your phone and your computer. However, students will have a choice of how to experience their advising appointment. Need to reach us with a quick question?
The quickest way to ask the Advisement Center a question is to go to Microsoft Teams and start a new chat with your advisor.
You may also leave a voicemail message at (323) 343-4574 or send an email to your advisor. Advisors will respond to your email and/or voicemail message within 24 hours.
Graduate students also receive advising services through their major department. Updates or changes regarding concentration and electives can be made only with the approval of the graduate advisor. All graduate students are required to see the Chair of the Department for further information. To make an appointment with an advisor in your department, please contact the department directly.
