Missing media item.Come hear Cal State LA Professor Mohammad Pourhomayoun speak on "Artificial Intelligence: From Science Fiction to Real Life.” Founder of the Data Science Research Lab, Dr. Pourhomayoun’s research projects include machine learning and computer vision for traffic management and accident prevention; machine learning for predicting, detecting, and managing cancer; predictive analytics for chronic disease management; data science for remote health monitoring; automatic pedestrian/bicyclist recognition in video streams; marketing prediction using social network data; and more.

Stay for a delicious dinner and discussion with physics and astronomy professors, students, and alumni. There will also be a campus tour!

Cost

A portion of the ticket price is tax-deductible which will help offset the students' dinner.

Lecture: Free for everyone
Dinner: $45 (Physics major students are free; guests of students will be required to pay for their dinner.)
Parking: $5

*If you are unable to attend or stay for dinner, please consider making a donation to the “Friends of Physics Fund” which helps offset student dinners.

If you are staying for dinner, you must RSVP in advance. 

Submit your RSVP using the form below. You must also pay by credit card by Tuesday, April 9th to guarantee your dinner and parking. We anticipate that only a few extra dinners will be available for purchase at the door at a cost of $50.  Pay for Dinner Online.
