The purpose of this service is to provide contactless curbside pickup/return of laptops and mobile WiFi hotspots during the spring 2021 semester to students who have signed up for the Cal State LA Technology Program. Our goal is to provide access to the equipment pickup during the COVID-19 campus closure that meets University physical distancing requirements.
Picking Up
Returning & Exchanging
STEP 1: Arrive on campus at your confirmed appointment time – bring your school ID!
- Wear a face mask when picking up. For your protection and the protection of our staff, all employees will wear face coverings at all times.
- Go to the front of the University-Student Union, Building 5 on the Campus Map.
STEP 2: Check in with a staff member at the University-Student Union driveway and let us know you're there to pick up technology equipment.
- Have your Cal State LA ID or CIN ready. We will ask you to verify your CIN and the equipment you signed up for.
- Once we’ve verified your CIN and equipment, a staff member will direct you on the next steps to take to receive your equipment.
- Remain in the vehicle and be sure to wear a face covering.
- Open your back window or trunk. Our staff member will place the equipment inside your car.
- Once you have received your equipment you’re done!
If you are unable to use curbside pick-up, email [email protected] ahead of your appointment and request to pick up in person. On the day of your appointment:

If you are returning a hotspot and/or a laptop please follow these instructions:
STEP 1: Arrive on campus at your confirmed appointment time – bring your school ID and all borrowed technology equipment.
- Wear a face mask. For your protection and the protection of our staff, all employees will wear face coverings at all times.
- Bring the loaned device, charger, user guides/manuals, and the box it came in.
- Go to the front of the University-Student Union, Building 5 on the Campus Map.
STEP 2: Check in with a staff member at the University-Student Union driveway and let us know you're there to return technology equipment.
- Have your Cal State LA ID or CIN ready in order to facilitate a fast and smooth process. We will ask you to verify your CIN and the equipment you borrowed.
- Once we’ve verified your CIN and equipment, a staff member will direct you on the next steps to take to return the equipment.
- Remain in the vehicle and be sure to wear a face covering.
- Staff will not be able to touch your vehicle, so please have your back window or trunk open and our staff member will retrieve the equipment inside your car.
- Once you have submitted your equipment you’re done!
