To be eligible to participate in the 2023 Commencement ceremonies, the graduating candidate must complete the following steps:
- Submit a graduation application with the Graduation Office for their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree for the fall 2022, winter 2023, spring 2023, or summer 2023 term by the appropriate deadline.
The graduation application is used by the student to notify the University that they are ready to complete their bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree program. All coursework for the degree program must be completed prior to the award date (end of the graduation term they applied for). Students will not be able to register beyond their expected declared graduation term, so it is critical that the graduation application be accurate at the time of filing. Find graduation application deadlines, additional information, and apply for your degree on the Graduation Office website.
- Register to participate in Commencement during the online registration period.
All graduates planning to participate in the in-person Commencement ceremonies must register in advance in order to attend. In April 2023, graduates will be able to register to participate in Commencement and reserve guest tickets using the Commencement online ticketing platform. Graduates will receive an email to their @calstatela.edu email account in early April with the registration link.
During the spring semester, additional information about Commencement, including the full ceremony schedule, registration instructions, and regalia details, will be posted on this website. All information, including dates and activities, are subject to change. Please visit regularly for the most up-to-date information.
