POSITION: Tenure-track Faculty Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with tenure position in Educational Administration. If unable to fill this position, it may be converted to full-time temporary appointment.

STARTING DATE: September, 2006. CSULA operates on a quarter system year-round calendar. The person selected may be required to teach Summer Quarter in lieu of a quarter during the traditional academic year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctorate (Ed.D or Ph.D.) or ABD in Educational Administration or closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education. Doctorate is required for tenure. Experience in K-12 school leadership/administration in a multiethnic, multicultural urban environment. A record of or potential for scholarly research appropriate to rank offered. Demonstrated potential for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies, including the use of technology. A knowledge of national and state accountability systems for schools. Proficiency in oral and written communication.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred candidate will have the ability to teach in three or more of the following areas: instructional leadership; human resources development; school law; school finance; data-based decision-making; uses of technology in educational administration; organizational theory; socio-economic, political and cultural foundations of educational leadership; and leadership in school reform.

DUTIES: The successful candidate will teach graduate and credential students; supervise clinically-based fieldwork and internship placements at various public school levels; engage in scholarly, research and innovative or collaborative activities; participate in University or community service; develop and implement student assessment procedures; and provide students in preliminary and professional level credential programs with advisement and career guidance.

SALARY RANGE: Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Employment contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United States and completion of the UniversityÂ’s Application for Employment.
