Full Time Temporary Lecturer in School Psychology
1) Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or closely related field from a NASP or APA accredited program at an accredited university is required.
2) Evidence of possession or eligibility to attain possession of the California Pupil Personnel Services credential in School Psychology by the date of appointment (8/18/2022).
3) Documented experience working in the field of School Psychology.
4) Commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of students who are among the first-generation of their family to attend a college or university.
1) Earned Doctorate in School Psychology or closely related field from a NASP or APA accredited program at an accredited university.
2) Evidence of specialized experience in academic and/or behavioral assessment and interventions, ethics and law, special education, and/or multi-tiered systems of support.
3) Evidence of successful university teaching experience at the graduate level in the following content areas: cognitive, behavioral, and/or academic assessment; applied behavior analysis; school consultation; and/or research and program evaluation.
4) Documented experience with field or university supervision in school psychology or related discipline.
The primary professional responsibilities include teaching graduate students in school psychology; supervising practicum and internship placements in public schools; providing academic advisement in a counseling program whose identified mission is the development of counseling-related professionals to serve urban, multilingual schools and other agencies in the 21st century. The normal load for full-time lecturers is 15 units each semester (30 units per academic year).

The Division of Special Education and Counseling offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study leading to a variety of degrees, credentials, and certificates/added authorizations. Preparation is offered for teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and specialists in education, counseling, rehabilitation, and related services. Within the division, the mission of the School Psychology Program is to facilitate complete access to the schooling process for all children, youth, and their families with recognition of the diverse, multicultural and linguistic backgrounds.
