Applied Music Instructor - Vihuela (Mariachi)
Beginning Fall 2014 and on-going.
Candidate must have a Master’s degree from an accredited university, or significant experience. Experience in teaching advanced music students and specific expertise, based on significant professional experience in Vihuela (mariachi) performance. Working knowledge of computers to check emails and enter grades. Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.
As a University dedicated to engagement, service and the public good, the successful candidate will be expected to join faculty, staff, students and administrators in a commitment to these purposes.
Adjunct Applied music instructor will be assigned to sections of applied music, specific to the qualifications outlined above. Participate in student juries, hearings, recitals and auditions. Evaluate and advise student recitals. Maintain accurate records and grades. Must be flexible with student schedule. Weekly lessons to be held on-campus only.
Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
