1. How does the passage of Prop 30 affect students?
A. The California State University will roll back tuition fees to 2011-12 fee levels, retroactive to the fall 2012 term. For further information regarding tuition fees, please visit the following website: http://www.calstate.edu/budget/
Non-Financial Aid Students
2. How much money will be refunded to me?
A. Applicable refunds will be based on student fee categories and unit load. Refunds will first be used to offset any outstanding obligation due on the student account before a refund is issued to the student.
3. When will the revised fall 2012 tuition and fees charges be reflected on my student account?
A. All applicable charges will be posted by November 20, 2012.
4. How will I receive the refund?
A. All applicable refunds will be processed by check and mailed to the address on GET, or by direct deposit. Please verify that your address in GET is correct prior to November 30, 2012.
5. When will I receive my refund?
A. You will receive your refund check or direct deposit by December 21, 2012.
6. Can I pick up my check in Student Financial Services?
A. No. All refunds will be mailed to the address on file or by direct deposit.
7. What if I have outstanding charges on my student account?
A. Refunds will first be used to offset any outstanding obligation due on the student account before a refund is issued to the student.
8. What if I have already made my winter 2013 tuition and fees payment?
A. You will receive a refund check or direct deposit by December 21, 2012 for the difference in fees paid.
Financial Aid Students
9. Will my financial aid award be reduced?
A. Any refund will depend on your adjusted cost of attendance and the type of financial aid you are receiving. A fee reduction may be matched by an equal reduction in a financial aid grant, in which case no refund will be due.
10. How much money will be refunded to me?
A. All applicable refunds will depend on the type of financial aid you are receiving. You can contact the Financial Aid Office at, 323-343-6260 for additional information. Student Financial Services will be processing all refunds by December 21, 2012.
11. Will I receive a refund if my tuition charges were paid with a State University Grant?
A. You will not receive a tuition refund if you were awarded a State University Grant (SUG).
12. Will I receive a refund if my tuition charges were paid with a Cal Grant A or B(T/F)?
A. You will not receive a tuition refund if you were awarded a Cal Grant A or B(T/F).
13. Will my scholarship be reduced?
A. It depends on the type of scholarship you received. If your scholarship funds were designated for tuition purposes only, then your scholarship will be reduced and you will not receive a refund.
