Elected officials, university and college leaders converge at Cal State L.A. for a town hall on higher education

What:  Local, state and federal elected officials will join Cal State L.A. President William A. Covino and other university and college leaders on Thursday, April 9, to discuss important issues related to higher education and the communities served by the campuses.

Who:  Participants in the Joint Higher Education Town Hall include: U.S. Representative Judy Chu, State Treasurer John Chiang, State Senator Ed Hernandez, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis.

Also in attendance at this special event will be President Renee Martinez, of Los Angeles City College; President Laurence Frank, of Los Angeles Trade Tech College; President Marvin Martinez, of East Los Angeles College; President Mark Rocha, of Pasadena City College; and Executive Vice Chancellor Scott Waugh, of UCLA.

When:  Thursday, April 9, 2015, 6:30-8 p.m.

More:  The evening will begin with a welcome by President Covino, followed by brief opening remarks by elected officials. Raphael Sonenshein, executive director of the Pat Brown Institute at Cal State L.A., will moderate the discussion.
