The Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at Cal State L.A.
presents The Tempest. Set in Madagascar in 1996,
this outdoor production brings William Shakespeare's intriguing
tale to life. Directed by Theresa Larkin.

Thu., Nov. 21, 12 noon; Sat., Nov. 23, 3 p.m.; Sun., Nov. 24,
Cal State L.A. Luckman Street of the Arts. The University
is located at the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10)
Freeway, at the interchange of the 10 and 710 Freeways.
Theresa Larkin, a resident of Los Angeles, is an associate professor
of Theatre Arts at Cal State L.A. She has founded four theater
companies, most notably The Artists' Collective producing
at the Los Angeles Theatre Center and Theatre for the 21st
Century. Larkin is a freelance theater and film producer,
director and actress.
On Friday, November 22, 5:30 p.m. at the CSLA State Playhouse,
actor Fred Curchack will perform Stuff As Dreams Are Made On,
a fascinating and unconventional one-man performance based on
Shakespeare's The Tempest. Curchack has created over 45
original theatre performances, 14 of them solos. His works have
been featured at 40 international theatre festivals. He is a
Guggenheim Fellow and his work is funded by the National Endowment
for the Arts. Tickets for this solo performance are $12 for general
