Latin American fiction foursome
at Cal State L.A.

‘Imposturas’ to present creative writings in Spanish

 

Los Angeles, CA –– Four Latin American writers will come together at Cal State L.A. Tuesday, March 4, to present “Imposturas: Creative Readings/Writings in Spanish.” The forum—to be held at CSULA’s Music Hall—will feature Alicia Kozameh, Pablo Baler, Paola Marín, and Gastón Alzate who will be reading from their own works.

 

Kozameh’s acclaimed novel, Pasos bajo el agua, is a fictional account of her experience as a political prisoner during Argentina’s dictatorship.

A fiction writer and art critic, Baler is author of an award-winning novel, Circa, and several short stories. He is an assistant professor of Spanish at Cal State L.A.

Marín, assistant professor of Spanish at Cal State L.A., is a National Colombian Poetry Fellow.

 

A Latin American art and theatre critic, Alzate is a recipient of the National Colombian Short Story Award.

 

The event is cosponsored by Cal State L.A.’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, College of Arts and Letters, Cross Cultural Centers, and the Eduardo Torres Center (ETC).
