HENRIK IBSEN'S HEDDA GABLER AT CAL STATE L.A.
Los Angeles, California -- February 7, 1996 -- Some of
the leading actors from the Department of Theatre Arts
and Dance at California State University, Los Angeles join
with professional actors from East L.A. Classic Theatre
to present Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler on the weekends
of March 1-3 and March 8-10, 1996 at the Cal State
L.A. Arena Theatre. Friday and Saturday performances start at
8 p.m. and Sunday matinees are 2:30 p.m.
Directed by Emmett Jacobs, this classic
play explores the roots of feminism in the 20th century through
a beautiful woman with passions too great for her comfortable
marriage and too incendiary for a repressive society.
Tickets for student productions are $8 general admission, $5 students and senior citizens. Substantial discounts on the regular Theatre Arts and Dance '95-'96 offerings, including this performance, are available with a CSLA OnStage Series Pass.
The East L.A. Classic Theatre professional productions, which require separate admission, are scheduled March 30-31; April 5-7, 12-14, 19-21, 27-28; and May 3-5. Tickets for the professional productions are $15 general admission, $7 students and senior citizens. Group tickets are available. CSLA OnStage Series Pass can be used only to reserve priority seating when you purchase these tickets.
The Gala Opening Night Benefit for the professional cast is scheduled Saturday, March 30, with special guest celebrities in attendance. Opening night benefit tickets are $50 per person. For tickets to the Opening Night event, call (213) 228-9247.
