Tour of new state-of-the-art campus facilities, financial aid workshops, lively entertainment, more at Cal State L.A.’s EagleFest Nov. 15 

Applications for Fall 2009 admission to be processed during event

Los Angeles, CA -- More than a thousand prospective students along with their friends and family will be on hand at Cal State L.A.s EagleFest Saturday, Nov. 15, to preview all that Cal State L.A. has to offer.

Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the campus, including the La Kretz Hall of the new Wallis Annenberg Integrated Sciences Complex featuring high-tech laboratory facilities and advanced scientific equipment, and the new University-Student Union featuring a fitness center, expanded computer lab, 200-seat theater, outdoor plaza area and more.  

This year, high school seniors and community college transfer students will have the opportunity to apply for Fall 2009 admissions on the day of the event and learn about their admission status that same day.

Cal State L.A.’s EagleFest activities will also include scholarship giveaways, a campus clubs and organization fair, workshops on admission requirements and financial aid, displays of geological artifacts and greenhouse plants, academic program booths, hands-on activities, lively entertainment, and a Luckman Gallery exhibition.

Since 1947, Cal State L.A. has been a leader in providing quality higher education. Today, the campus comprises a faculty of internationally recognized scholars and artists, and more than 20,000 students with a wide variety of interests, ages and backgrounds that reflect the city’s dynamic mix of populations.

The University is noted for the Luckman Fine Arts Complex and critically-acclaimed Luckman Jazz Orchestra; its focus on alternative energy technology; the unique Early Entrance Program for gifted youngsters; the first of its kind Charter College of Education; and a renowned forensic science graduate program housed in the Hertzberg-Davis Forensic Science Center, among many others.
