Cal State L.A. opens its doors to
spring 2011 student admissions

Los Angeles, CA – The recent passing of the California state budget and the restoration of one-time funding to the California State University system (CSU) will allow Cal State L.A. (CSULA) to open its doors to additional students to enroll for the spring 2011 quarter, which begins March 28.

Applications for the spring quarter must be submitted by Nov. 30. Students should also submit official documents such as transcripts and test scores as instructed by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.

“We are pleased that the Governor and the legislature have provided additional state funding for the CSU. As a result of their commitment to higher education, Cal State Los Angeles will be able to serve additional students from our region and continue to educate the future workforce of the state,” said Ashish Vaidya, provost and vice president for academic affairs at CSULA.

The CSU Office of the Chancellor estimates the entire 23-campus system will have received approximately 50,000 applications and as many as 30,000 new students by the end of the application cycle.

CSULA has opened the application filing period for the spring 2011 quarter for the following domestic students: upper-division undergraduate transfers, qualified lower-division undergraduate transfers, second-baccalaureate seekers and those interested in select graduate, credential and certificate programs.

“I encourage students to take advantage of this unique opportunity to attend Cal State L.A. by filing their admission application as soon as possible, and meeting all stated deadlines,” said Vince Lopez, CSULA’s director of Admissions and Recruitment.

In addition, CSULA is accepting applications for the 2011-12 academic year. The priority application filing period for fall 2011 also ends Nov. 30.

Students interested in applying to CSULA may complete their applications by logging onto www.CSUMentor.edu.
