Dwan Bridges' adaptive physical education and motor
development/learning are important additions to the study
of physical education. In 1994, she received the Distinguished
Young Scholar for the Western College of Physical Education.
Her areas of expertise include: general physical education,
multiple disabilities, mental retardation, general kinesiology,
play skills and modeling techniques.

Dr. de Leon is an expert on spinal cord injury rehabilitation. He is currently working on neuroscience research projects that focus on gait retraining and the use of robotic devices for training after spinal-cord injury. These projects are funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, and the Roman Reed Spinal Cord Research Fund. He also oversees the University's Mobility Center, an exercise facility that was established on the CSULA campus in 2001 for people with physical disabilities.

Dr. Frankl is an expert on youth sports, sociology and psychology of
sports, and computer applications in kinesiology and physical education.
Frankl is a consultant and presenter for the Amateur Athletic
Foundation of Los Angeles. He is the

youth sports Web site for parents and coaches:

Professor Harris is an active fellow in the American Academy
of Kinesiology and Physical Education. She has published
the following books: Play, Games and Sports in Cultural Contexts (1983/1989); Athletes and the American Hero Dilemma (1994); and Introduction to Physical Activity: Studying Kinesiology (2000). She is knowledgeable about sport sociology, grassroots community/youth development, and social aspects of sports.

Assistant Professor Jambazian is an expert on food safety, vitamin E and diet IGF, osteoporosis and the elderly, and advanced nutrition. Dr. Jambazian received the Hulda Crooks Award from Loma Linda University in 1999.

has received the Mayors Youth Service Award. He has also
published articles on student teaching, at-risk youth in
physical education, and practitioner research. He is the executive
director of the Youth Agency Administration program at

Samuel Landsberger

Dr. Landsberger's specialty is rehabilitation engineering. He was co-director of a major federally-funded research and development program at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, focused on producing devices that will help people with physical and cognitive disabilities live more independent lives. He works with rehabilitation exercise specialists at Cal State L.A. to develop exercise equipment and machines that are accessible for people with disabilities.

Dr. Orta is particularly interested in computer applications in nutrition and dietetics, and is a world authority on the subject. His knowledge also extends to the field of geriatric nutrition. He is the author of more than 150 relevant software reviews, over 20 video reviews, and a book on computer applications in nutrition and dietetics. His research involves investigations on ways that technology may enhance the nutritional well-being of the population. He also has interests in nutritional counseling and geriatrics.
