Professor Abdullah is an expert in urban and local politics, hip hop, women and politics, and women of color. She is vice chair of the Los Angeles African American Women's Public Policy Institute at USC. She has published articles and books chapters on "Self-Defined Political Leadership Among African American Women: Proactive, Group-Centered Leadership beyond Liberal Reform," "Hip Hop as Political Expression: Potentialities for the Power of Voice in Urban America," and "The Emergence of a Black Feminist Leadership Model: African American Women and Political Activism in the 19th Century."

Dr. Nwomonoh's areas of expertise are African history and government and Third World development. He is the author of numerous articles, including "The Role of Traditional Leadership in Political Development," "The Role of African Women in Rural Development," and "Agricultural Policy and Production in Sub-Saharan Africa: Problems and Prospects."

Dr. O'Reilly is an expert on African/Caribbean folktales and Franco-African literature. She has presented many papers on Third World images in film and produced three educational videos on folktales. Dr. O'Reilly is also a columnist for the Egyptian French and Irish Press. She is the past president and at present on the board of trustees of The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which presents the Golden Globe Awards for outstanding international films.
