Neda S. Fabris

Dr. Fabris is an expert in manufacturing processes, friction, wear,
statistical process analysis and control, and manufacturing design.
Fabris is also an accomplished speaker on engineering professions to
engineering and non-engineering audiences. In 1998, Fabris was awarded
the Manufacturing Educator of the Year Award (Region 12) by the
Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and in 2001, the U.S. Engineering
Educator of the Year from the Society of Women Engineers.

Stephen F. Felszeghy

Dr. Felszeghy's areas of expertise include solid mechanics,
finite element methods, mechanical vibrations and dynamics.
He was one of several faculty advisers who helped develop
Cal State L.A.'s award-winning Solar Eagle, a solar-powered
electric car.

Dr. Hsia is available to speak to the local Chinese community
on various subjects. He is often quoted regarding his accomplishments
in the development of inflatable structures for JPL. He also has
extensive experience in working with students on industry-sponsored projects.
Before joining the Cal State L.A. faculty, he was a member of the technical
staff of Hughes Aircraft Company.

Raymond B. Landis

Dr. Landis is a nationally-recognized expert in student development and student retention in engineering. He founded the first Minority Engineering Program (MEP) in California at CSU Northridge in 1973. Widely-published, he is a frequent speaker on minority engineering education and engineering careers. He published a highly-successful textbook for freshman engineering students, Studying Engineering: A Road Map to a Rewarding Career. Dr. Landis was part of Cal State L.A.'s award-winning Solar Eagle (solar vehicle) project team. He received the 1999 CSU Wang Award of Excellence in Administration and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.

Dr. Manvi is an expert on thermal systems engineering, advanced energy systems, space technologies and decision analysis and risk in engineering.

Richard D. Roberto

Professor Roberto is a registered professional mechanical engineer,
with expertise in machine design, dynamics
and vibrations. He was the chief engineer and faculty adviser
in the development, manufacturing and racing of Cal State L.A.'s
award-winning solar-electric land vehicle, the Solar
Eagle. In 1991, he was selected as the Cal State L.A. Alumni Association
Distinguished Alumnus for the School of Engineering and Technology
and was named Cal State L.A. Outstanding Professor for 1991-92.
Adel A. Sharif

Dr. Sharif's areas of expertise include high-temperature structural
materials, machine design, materials science and engineering,
dislocation theory, ceramics, and intermetallics.
Chivey C. Wu

The areas of Dr. Wu's expertise are aeronautics and
computer-aided design and analysis. He is the co-principal
investigator for both the NASA University Research Center at
Cal State L.A., and the Multidisciplinary Flight Dynamics and
Control Laboratory (funded by USAF). He was also the faculty
adviser for aerodynamics in the production of Cal State L.A.'s
solar-electric cars, the Solar Eagles between 1988 and 1997.
