As Acting University Librarian, Cesar Caballero provides leadership in planning and implementing strategies to enhance services and collections of the Library; provides effective management for the Library's resources, and makes creative use of modern technologies in the provision of recorded knowledge and information resources to students and faculty of the University. He promotes the assessment of the instructional program of the Library and the development of an information literacy program for students. Prior to joining Cal State L.A., Caballero served as associate university librarian and special collections librarian at the University of Texas at El Paso. He also served as president of the Board of Directors of the El Paso Public Library and a member on the Board of Directors of the American Library Association. His most recent publications include "Strategic planning as a pre-requisite to strategic marketing action in libraries and information agencies" in Strategic Marketing in Library and Information Science, Binghamton, NY: Haworth Information Press, 2002.
