The Department of Public Safety has established a program designed exclusively to provide Live Scan fingerprinting services for our campus community and the public. Applicant Live Scan fingerprinting is an automated digital processing program that submits requests for criminal history record information for employment, volunteer positions, and licensing and certification. The program coordinates processing of applicant fingerprint transactions and the California Department of Justice relays results to the requesting agencies.
Individuals interested in electronic fingerprinting must present the following: a completed Live Scan Application; check or Money Order; and, a valid California driver's license or identification card. Cash or credit cards are NOT accepted. If the individual has a high school student ID, a Birth Certificate or Social Security card is required.
The processing fees are as follows:
- CSULA affiliated (students, faculty, and staff with a current I.D.): $12.00 for the fingerprint-rolling fee
- Non-CSULA affiliated (public): $25.00 for the fingerprint-rolling fee
Please note: the fingerprint-rolling fee is for the cost of the Live Scan service; additional fees are charged for Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations.
Off-campus applicants may park in one of three (3) stalls provided for Public Safety guests in Parking Structure B, accessible from the Circle Drive entrance to the parking structure. If the Public Safety Guest stalls are occupied, parking is available in Lot C with the purchase of a daily permit at a rate of $1.00 for and hour and 15 minutes. Instructions are provided on the daily permit dispensers.
