Live Scan services are provided on a walk-in first come, first serve basis. Services are not guaranteed on a daily basis. Applicants are encouraged to arrive early. The last applicant will be accepted no later than 3:00 pm. Please Allow at least 30 minutes for processing.

CSULA Live Scan Services

The Department of Public Safety has established a program designed exclusively to provide Live Scan fingerprinting services for our campus community and the public. Applicant Live Scan fingerprinting is an automated digital processing program that submits requests for criminal history record information for employment, volunteer positions, and licensing and certification. The program coordinates processing of applicant fingerprint transactions and the California Department of Justice relays results to the requesting agencies.

Individuals interested in electronic fingerprinting must present the following:

  1. Live Scan application (provided by requesting agency)

  2. A VALID Government issued Picture ID (ie, California ID or Passport. If the individual has a high school ID, a Birth Certificate or Social Security card is required.)

  3. Accepted Method of Payment: Check, MasterCard/Visa, or Money Order (Cash is not accepted)

 

Clearance Fees

Department of Justice (DOJ): $32**

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI): $17**

CSULA Rolling Fee: $25**

Rolling Fee for current CSULA  students & employees: $12**
(Must have valid proof of current status)

Please note: the fingerprint-rolling fee is for the cost of the Live Scan service; additional fees are charged for Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Applicants may park in one of three (4) stalls provided for Public Safety visitors in front of  the Department of Public Safety Building Located adjacent to parking lot 1.  If the Public Safety visitor stalls are occupied, parking is available in the Public Safety side of Lot 1 with the purchase of a daily permit at a rate of $1.00 for an hour and 15 minutes. Instructions are provided on the daily permit dispensers.
