I would like to welcome you to the website of the California State University, Los Angeles Department of Public Safety. We are proud to serve our community as a fully certified law enforcement agency. The University Police is proud to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) since November 2001 and accredited by the International Association of College Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) since June 2008.
We also serve to protect the campus community through our Emergency Preparedness program, Key Control and Locksmith Services, Fire & Life Safety, and our Records Unit which serves as the data collection, dissemination and retention arm of the University Police. The Department of Public Safety also oversees all campus-wide Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety issues.
Parking and Transportation Services is another section of the Department of Public Safety which includes parking enforcement, field maintenance, event traffic control, information services via campus Information Centers, parking permit sales, fingerprint services (Live Scan) and customer service. Within the transportation program are various commuting options with incentives geared to encourage ride sharing and mass transportation alternatives by faculty and staff.
Cal State L.A. is fortunate to have Metrolink Station on campus. In my position as Director of Public Safety, I serve as the President of a group consisting of neighboring cities which govern the station under a Joint Powers of Authority.
