International Programs
and Services (IPS) is a department of Cal State L.A.’s Division of Student Affairs.
We provide assistance to our international community coming
to Cal State L.A. to study, perform research, or employment.
We also provide guidance to domestic students who are interested
in study abroad and exchange programs. For questions regarding your
status or our programs, please consult the appropriate staff member at IPS.
I-9 Clearance (Employment Eligibility Verification)
International Student Walk-in Advising
          Immigration Counselor is available to see students and answer general questions
during specific walk-in hours without an appointment. If you feel that you
have a difficult situation that requires more attention, please schedule
an appointment to see a counselor. Students submitting documents for
reinstatement, employment authorization (except OPT), change of status
or leave of absence MUST schedule an appointment.

Individual Appointments        All our counselors are available for
individual appointments. You must call the office at 323-343-3170 or
drop by the office at Administration 127 to schedule an appointment
during our regular business hours.
Counselor will stop seeing student at the end of the walk-in time,
regardless of whether the student was waiting. Walk-in advising is
subject to cancellation. Please call on the day to confirm.

Optional Practical Training Workshop -
Fall 2008
       You must attend an OPT workshop
session prior to submitting your application. You should attend a workshop
within one to two quarters prior to applying. USCIS does not consider the
grad-check as completing your degree program. The completion of your
program occurs when you have met all academic requirements to qualify
for the degree.
