If you wish to contract for the 2013-2014 Academic Year, but will NOT be living with Housing Services over the summer, we consider you as “returning” resident. As a returning resident you will have priority to lock in a space for next year. Since you will not be living here over summer, there are several important processes that will need your attention. Please read through this carefully to ensure a smooth transition into summer.
SELECT YOUR SPACE FOR NEXT YEAR – ROOM SELECTION
As a returning resident, you will have priority to select your space for the academic year (beginning Fall 2013). To reserve your space, you will be asked to complete a 2013-2014 Housing Services License Agreement. This will be available around March 2013. Once you have completed your License Agreement and paid the initial fee of $140.00, the Housing Office will provide you an appointment to come in and select your space for next year. Room selection will begin in April. It is advisable to hold a space, even if you are unsure of your plans for Fall. Remember, you may cancel your housing assignment with at least 30 day notice prior to the Fall move in date.
CHECK OUT PROPERLY AND ON TIME
Your current Housing Services License Agreement ends on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Since you are not living on campus during the summer, you must be completely moved out by this date. Several apartments will be offline during the summer for maintenance projects and for summer conferences. There are no exceptions for this check-out date. Late check-outs will result in additional fees and may jeopardize your contract for next year.
More information will be sent to your Cal State LA email address and will be on our website. If your plans change, please contact the Housing Office.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Housing Office at (323) 343-4800.
