Continuing Residents – Applying for Summer 2013, Fall 2013, Winter 2014 and Spring 2014

If you are continuing as a resident through the summer quarter and the 2013-2014 academic year there are several important processes that will need your attention. Please read through this carefully to ensure a smooth transition into summer.

SELECT YOUR SPACE FOR NEXT YEAR – ROOM SELECTION – by appointment only. Please contact the Housing Office.
As a continuing resident, you have priority to select your space for the summer and academic year. To reserve your space, you will be asked to complete a 2013-2014 Housing Services License Agreement and pay $140.00. Room selection began in April 2013 and currently is by appointment only. It is advisable to lock in a space for Fall, even if your plans are tentative. Remember, you may cancel your housing assignment with at least 30 day notice prior to the beginning of your contract period (for continuing residents, this would be 30 days prior to the summer quarter).

SUMMER ROOM ASSIGNMENTS – PHASE I ONLY
Normally there are fewer students living on campus during the summer. Having these open spaces allows University Housing to schedule maintenance and renovation projects to enhance the living environment for our residents. To accomplish this, several apartments and possible entire buildings will be closed for these projects. This means we will ask residents staying over the summer to live in specific, designated apartments or buildings. Phase I and GEA will be utilized for summer residents. Phase II will be used for summer conferences and will also be scheduled for repairs and maintenance.  Depending on where you want to live in the fall, this may mean moving again prior to the fall quarter. We appreciate your understanding in order to improve our facilities for you and future residents.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED ROOM SELECTION AND SELECTED YOUR SUMMER SPACE and you will be moving to a different apartment for the summer, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANY TRAVEL PLANS. You must be available on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 to transfer to your summer space. . If you have chosen to live in the same space you currently have, you do not need to do anything except to complete a new Apartment Condition Report. Housing staff will assist you with this process. If your plans change, please contact the Housing Office.
