Continuing Residents – Applying for Summer 2013, Fall 2013, Winter 2014 and Spring 2014
Be certain to complete an Intent Form. If you are continuing as a resident through the summer quarter and the 2013-2014 academic year there are several important processes that will need your attention. Please read through this carefully to ensure a smooth transition into summer.
SELECT YOUR SPACE FOR NEXT YEAR – ROOM SELECTION
As a continuing resident, you will have priority to select your space for the summer and academic year. To reserve your space, you will be asked to complete a 2013-2014 Housing Services License Agreement and pay $140.00. This will be available around March 2013. Once you have completed your License Agreement, the Housing Office will provide you an appointment to come in and select your space for next year. Room selection will begin in April. It is advisable to hold a space, even if you are unsure of your plans. Remember, you may cancel your housing assignment with at least 30 day notice prior to the beginning of your contract period (for continuing residents, this would be 30 days prior to the summer quarter).
SUMMER ROOM ASSIGNMENTS
Normally there are fewer students living on campus during the summer. Having these open spaces allows University Housing to schedule maintenance and renovation projects to enhance the living environment for our residents. To accomplish this, several apartments and possible entire buildings will be closed for these projects. This means we will ask residents staying over the summer to live in specific, designated apartments or buildings. Phase I and GEA will be utilized for summer residents. Phase II will be used for summer conferences and will also be scheduled for repairs and maintenance. Depending on where you want to live in the fall, this may mean moving again prior to the fall quarter. We appreciate your understanding in order to improve our facilities for you and future residents.
If you are staying over the summer, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANY TRAVEL PLANS that will take you away from campus until you have confirmation of your summer space. You must be available on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 to transfer to your summer space. More information will be sent to you via your Cal State LA email address and on our website.
