These services generally include: 24-hour hotlines; services for women, men, and children; information and referral; accompaniment and support for forensic exams and law enforcement and criminal justice interviews; short-term and long-term counseling; support groups; emergency shelter or shelter referrals; legal assistance; and other advocacy services. You can find a local center through Project SAFE.
In addition, the Student Health Center and other campus departments offer victim assistance services, especially for campus-related crimes.
Health Insurance
Note: All students who do not currently have health insurance are encouraged to obtain it. The University does not assume responsibility for payment of medical services provided outside of the Student Health Center. The Mandatory Health Fee is NOT a form of health insurance.
When making decisions about health insurance, students should carefully compare covered services, premiums, deductibles, co-pays, and other important information about the plans under consideration for purchase. Helpful facts about health insurance can be found in Questions and Answers About Health Insurance: A Consumer Guide.
