Confidential Health Counseling
Health counseling sessions through the Health Promotion and Education Center are confidential, nonjudgmental, and client-centered interactions with the goal of helping students address their health needs. Appointments are recommended (323-343-3302). Walk-ins are welcome. Anonymous counseling is offered for those students who prefer not to reveal their identity.
Students are encouraged to seek assistance related to:
- Alcohol and other drug use
- Birth control and family planning
- Dating/domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking
- HIV infection and AIDS
- Nutrition, fitness, and weight management
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Stress management
- And other health issues
Students with concerns beyond the scope of health education are referred to Student Health Center clinicians and psychological counselors, or other appropriate providers.
