Free Condoms and Latex Dams
Each year in the U.S. more than 15 million cases of sexually transmitted
infections (STI) are diagnosed, including 40,000 new cases of HIV infection.
Almost two-thirds of these cases are diagnosed in men and women under the age
of 25. The majority of women and half of all men who are infected with a
STI have no symptoms. (Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention)
Students who are sexually active are strongly encouraged to use protective
barriers during every oral, vaginal, and anal sex encounter. To assist
students with safer sex practices the Student Health Center offers lubricated and non-lubricated latex male condoms, polyurethane
male condoms, female condoms, and latex dams at no
cost. In addition, safer sex educational resources and counseling are
available. These no-cost resources and services are available in the
Health Promotion and Education Center, Room 215.
