Tuberculosis (TB) Information

Student Health Center TB Services

The SHC provides free TB skin testing and chest x-ray for students and for some faculty and staff. The SHC Pharmacy stocks Isoniazid (INH) and can order other tuberculosis medications.

Student Health Center TB Testing Clinics occur every Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 -4:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Students who are given a TB skin test must return in two or three days to have their skin tests checked by a (SHC) nurse.

LA County Department of Health Services (LADHS)

The LADHS Tuberculosis Control Program is responsible primarily for the surveillance and receipt of reports of tuberculosis suspects and cases in Los Angeles County (excluding Long Beach and Pasadena). Clinical care for TB is provided at one of the eleven Los Angeles County District Public Health Centers or through private medical providers. Tuberculosis consultative and educational services are available through the medical and nursing specialists located in the program office.
