The Federal Perkins Loan is a low-interest (5%), campus need-based loan program that is awarded directly by Cal State L.A. Since funds are limited, preference goes to credential and graduate students. Eligible students pay no interest while enrolled at least half-time, and payment begins nine months after graduation, withdrawal from school, or dropping below half-time status.
