Cal-SOAP, Los Angeles Consortium Scholarship
The Cal-SOAP, Los Angeles Consortium in its effort to support the
students the program serves will be accepting applications for the
Cal-SOAP, Los Angeles Consortium Scholarship. Funds for the
scholarships are made possible through a generous grant from the College
Access Foundation of California.
The program will award scholarships to 2013 graduating high school
seniors that are registered with the Cal-SOAP program in the schools
listed on Consortium Members page (http://www.calstatela.edu/univ/csoap/schools.php)
of the Cal-SOAP website, continuing students who were awarded the 2012
graduating high school seniors Cal-SOAP Scholarship, and 2013 transfer
students from the community colleges listed on the Consortium Members
page (http://www.calstatela.edu/univ/csoap/schools.php)
of the Cal-SOAP website. The eligibility requirements for each of the
three categories can be found on the following application packets:
2013 Graduating High School Senior Scholarship Packet
Continuing Student Scholarship Application Packet
2013 Fall Transfer Scholarship Applicant Packet
In order for the application to be considered
all of the items in the scholarship packet must be submitted to
the Cal-SOAP representative or college counselor at your high school,
Cal-SOAP representative at the community college, or directly to the
Cal-SOAP office located on the campus of California State University,
Los Angeles by 12:00pm on Wednesday – March 13th. (No email
or faxes of the application packet will be accepted and applications
that are mailed and not received in the office by the above stated time
and date will not be considered).
All required documents must be turned in as a complete packet (use one staple on the top left-hand corner to submit the documents in the order in the application). Incomplete applications will automatically be disqualified. All application requirements are subject to verification. If you have any questions regarding the scholarship, please contact the Cal-SOAP representative or college counselor at your high school, Cal-SOAP representative at the community college, or contact the Cal-SOAP office at (323) 343-3180 (ask to speak with Martha Lemus). Awardees will only be notified by email.
Note: Once recipients have been selected and conditionally offered an
award, they will be required to submit additional forms that will be
requested in the award letter. Failure to submit all required forms will
result in rescission of the scholarship award.
Funds will be disbursed directly to the Financial Aid
Office/Scholarship Office of the college or university the student
attends. Students must attend an accredited degree-granting 2 or 4
year institution (community college or four year university/college) to
receive the scholarship. If a student is attending a community college,
s/he must be in an Associate’s degree or transfer program.
Good Luck!
