Choosing an academic major and investigating career options
and further education (graduate programs, professional schools) are important
career planning decisions. Integrating all the details of a job search is an
important career undertaking as well. Students and clients can make appointments
with professional career counselors to discuss these issues on an individual
basis.
Students are also able to make an appointment with a career counselor for
Mock Interviews (practice interviews). Typically, an appointment for a
resume critique will be scheduled for thirty minutes. All other counseling
appointments, including test interpretations, are scheduled for an hour.
Students can get quick
questions answered without scheduled appointments by visiting the Career Center
during walk-in hours. Walk-in counseling is available from Monday through
Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Students who are especially interested in being an active
participant in their career development are encouraged to register for
UNIV 298, which is a two-unit course (graded credit/no credit) that helps
develop and prepare students for work opportunities directly related to their
major. UNIV 298 is offered each quarter.
