On-Campus Interview (OCI) Program

The On-Campus Interview (OCI) Program is exclusively for graduating seniors, graduate students and recent college graduates from Cal State L.A. Traditionally, it is held during Fall and Spring Quarters. Employers from various business sectors come to campus during OCI season to meet and interview for full-time entry level positions within their organizations.

 Spring 2013
Interview Dates:
April 15 - May 17 , 2013

Eligibility:

Currently-enrolled seniors and graduate students in any major can participate, but they must be two or three quarters away from finishing their degree. Recent CSULA grads must either be one quarter past their graduation date, or be a Career Center Associate or a member of the CSULA Alumni Association in order to take part in OCI. For more information about Career Center Associates, call us at 323-343-3237.

How to participate:

Attendance at an orientation session is required of all those interested in OCI. Please view “Schedule of Orientation Sessions” for dates and times. During this session, you will be provided access to our database and shown where the list of participating employers will be posted. You will also be given instructions on how to sign up for an interview and submit your resume for consideration. All first-round interviews will take place in the Career Center: follow-up interviews will take place at the employer’s site if you are selected to continue.

Frequently-Asked Questions:

I’ve attended an orientation session before. Do I need to attend another one?
No. OCI participants are required to attend one session only, although they may choose to attend another one as a “refresher course.”

I graduated from another college. Can I participate in the Cal State L.A. OCI Program?
Unfortunately, no. The OCI Program is strictly for Cal State L.A. students and alums. We encourage you to take part in the OCI program at your school.

Does OCI participation guarantee me a job?
No. This is not a guaranteed job placement program. It is designed to connect students and employers. It is the responsibility of job candidates to prepare themselves to increase the probability of getting hired. The Career Center provides extensive services such as on-one-on consultations and workshops to educate and train candidates so that they can better market themselves.
