As Self Help Graphics & Art enters its 45th anniversary, this exhibition in partnership with the Cal State LA Fine Arts Gallery looks back on decades of artistic innovation and excellence, organizational resilience and expanded activity. We also take this time to look forward toward an exciting evolution of Chicana/o and Latinx aesthetics. Founded by Franciscan nun Sister Karen Boccalero and local Chicano artists Carlos Bueno, Antonio Ibañez, and Frank Hernandez inside a garage in East L.A.

"Recelebration" is a group exhibition of recent acquisitions from the Luckman Permanent Collection. The selected work in the exhibition focuses on artists in the collection who emerged during Los Angeles’ vibrant art scene in the '90s, artists like Jessica Bronson, Kim Dingle, John Souza, Dani Tull and Millie Wilson. Included in the exhibition will be Kim Dingle’s project for the 2000 Whitney Biennial. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday and Saturday, 12-5 p.m. Admission to the Luckman Gallery is free.

Rodriguez returns to the Luckman performing his classic hits and the songs that helped shape his fascinating life. Rodriguez began his music career in the '60s, but without any enthusiastic response, he was ultimately let go by his label and forced to work outside the music industry.
