LEAD Series are workshops designed for students to cultivate their leadership, enrichment, advocacy, and personal development. These workshops will be held twice a month, encompassing different topics to help students reach their full potential. Food will be provided at all LEAD Series events.
This semester, we are hosting CAPS at the GSRC monthly for an LGBTQ+ Drop-In Group! For each session, we will be discussing a different topic while also doing a fun craft activity. This is a drop-in group for those who identify as LGBTQIA+. In this safe and judgment-free environment, we will foster and provide community, support, reflection, and growth. For our April meeting, we will be discussing "Interpersonal Violence."
Learn from Teresa Huang (supervising producer on Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series; writer for Macgyver and Superstition), Nikhil Jayaram (Star Trek: Prodigy, Shades of Blue, and Make Me A Match, the first South Asian-themed rom-com for Hallmark), Kristian Fanene Schmidt (contributor to Washington Post, HuffPost and more), and Ringo Le (Cal State LA alum and writer/director of Big Gay Love and My Vietnam).
R.A.D. is a FREE women's only course that consists of 12 hours of instruction, which covers risk reduction and avoidance, basic hands-on defense training and a dynamic simulation exercise.

Join the Asian Pacific Islander Student Resource Center for an early kickoff of Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month, which is typically celebrated in the month of May. Come honor and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the APIDA community through cultural performances, fun activities, APIDA-owned small businesses, and of course food (available while supplies last). This year’s theme is "Lotus in Bloom," to honor the lotus flower which signifies connection and is sacred to many Asian cultures.
