How does an advisor, or student find out what kind of "hold" has been placed on a student's registration privileges?

Holds are now referred to as service indicators.  There are of several types such as a transcript hold, registration hold, financial aid hold, and admission hold, etc.  Holds or service indicators are helpful in determining why a student cannot access certain services.  If a student has the following symbol on any page, he/she has a hold: .  Academic advisors may access GET to determine the type of hold a student has and its source.

For general information about a hold and the services it impacts, click the symbol on any GET screen.  The details hyperlink displays what services are impacted such as "stops all enrollment."

Students may directly access information about any holds they have by logging onto GET (Golden Eagle Territory) at http://get.calstatela.edu. To access their own personal records they must have a password, which they can obtain at Administration 146.  Students should contact the center or department indicated to clear the hold.
