What is the difference between our B.A. and B.S. degrees?
A Bachelor's of Arts degree is a humanities based degree. It is designed to provide a balanced liberal arts education and general knowledge in a recognized discipline, interdisciplinary field, or areas of professional study. A Bachelor of Science degree is science based. It is designed to provide a balanced liberal arts education and a scientific, technical, or professional entry level competence. The bachelor's degree requires completion of 180-203 units as specified individually for each degree program.
It should be noted that CSLA offers two additional degrees. A Bachelor of Music degree provides a balanced liberal arts education with additional preparation in musical performance with emphasis on high performance standards. It requires completing of 198 units. The Bachelor of Vocational Education degree is designed specifically for vocational/occupational teachers who are required to have both work and teaching experience. It requires completion of 186 units.
