Bullet Image How much does it cost to attend CSULA?

The amount students pay to attend CSULA depends on in how many units they enroll, whether they are graduate, credential or undergraduate students, and whether or not they are California Residents for fee payment purposes. Typical California Resident graduate students pay about $1,200 to take 12 units per quarter, while non-California Resident graduate students pay about $3,900 to take 12 units per quarter. Credential and undergraduate students pay slightly less. A detailed Fee Analysis Form is published in each quarter's Schedule of Classes.

bullet image Placement Tests

All incoming undergraduate students are required to enroll in an English and math course during their first quarter at Cal State L.A. unless they have already met the general education requirement for English and/or math. For appropriate course placement, unless exempt, new undergraduate students are required to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and/or Entry Level Mathematics test (ELM) after admission and prior to enrollment in classes.

You can register to take the ELM and/or EPT on the Testing Center's Web Site. For more information on the English and math requirements, please see California State University Executive Order 665.
