Vice President For Administration and Chief Financial Officer
George A. Pardon was appointed as the Interim Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Cal State Los Angeles effective January 2, 2008 while a recruitment is conducted. In this capacity, Mr. Pardon provides overall direction to the Associate VP for Administration and Finance/Financial Services, Assistant Vice President for Administration and Finance, Director of Human Resources Management, Director of Facilities Services, Director of Public Safety, Director of Facilities Planning and Construction, and the Director of Administrative Technology and Support Services. Mr. Pardon also carries fiduciary responsibility for the Boards of the CSULA Foundation, the University Auxiliary Services, Inc., the University-Student Union, the University Development Corporation, and exercises fiduciary oversight of the CSULA Associated Students, Inc. Through coordinative efforts with other key executives, administrators and committees, he serves as advisor on fiscal matters and is the Campus Chief Financial Officer and serves as the University’s Emergency Operations Executive.
Prior to his retirement in May 2006, Mr. Pardon spent over 25 years in various administrative positions in higher education including the Claremont Colleges, CSU Fullerton Foundation, the CSU Chancellor’s Office, and for 8 years, until his retirement, was the Vice President of Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer at CSU Dominguez Hills. He served in a lead capacity for CSU Dominguez Hills in negotiating the agreement with the Anschutz Entertainment Group to bring the $150 million Home Depot Center to the campus.
Since his retirement, Mr. Pardon has worked on off-campus property development projects for CSU Long Beach and has volunteered for several urban based organizations including the Long Beach Rescue Mission.
Mr. Pardon earned both his Master of Business Administration in Finance and Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance at CSU Fullerton. Mr. Pardon and his wife, Lynn, have one child, Joshua, who is a senior at CSU Dominguez Hills.
