Calling Card Requests

To take advantage of the University’s Sprint Network, which provides reduced rates and volume discounts, telephone calling cards may be issued to department administrators (department chair or above) who are either required to make calls on behalf of the University while on travel status or working on projects that require making calls from off campus. These calling cards may be used for both domestic and international calls.

How To Requests a Calling Card

  1. The department should complete the Telephone Calling Card Request form (available at http://www.calstatela.edu/its/forms). The request must be approved by the appropriate fiscal dean or administrative officer and Vice President. Requests without the proper approvals will be returned to the department.

  2. The completed request form should be submitted to Network and Communications Services in Lib N B10. [This department maintains a secured inventory of Sprint calling cards.]

  3. The user or designated representative may pick up the calling card and sign for its receipt in Lib N B10. Proper identification (the Golden Eagle One Card) must be shown before calling cards will be issued.

  4. Departments are responsible for all calling card charges. Treat your Sprint calling card like any other credit card. Lost or stolen cards must immediately be reported to Communication Services, extension 3-2600.

  5. Departments should immediately notify Communication Servicesin writing or by e-mail upon the termination or cancellation of any calling card. Each department is responsible for calling card charges prior to official notification of cancellation.
