Either You Snooze... Or You Lose
Frustrated by restless nights? Dozing of in class? Poor sleep habits can take a toll on your grades, relationships, and overall mental health. Learn how to eliminate barriers to sleep with a few simple, effective techniques. This interactive workshop will teach you how to figure out how much sleep you need, create a better sleep environment, make the most of your naps, and how to get through an all-nighter in the healthiest way possible.
What do you want out of your relationship? What makes a relationship healthy? How can you tell if your relationship is good for you? What is an abusive relationship? Do you feel intimidated, threatened, or isolated from family and friends? Has your partner ever hit you or forced you to have sex? Take the “Is this love?” quiz. Find out what healthy relationships are all about, how to help a friend, and what your rights and options are if you are in an abusive relationship.
Friends Helping Friends
We all have our good days and our bad days, but sometimes the bad days can start overwhelming everything else in a person’s life. Join us for an interactive workshop to learn how to identify when a friend might be in trouble, how to assess if they need help, and practice making referrals to support services. You will learn specific conversation strategies and coping skills to help your friends, family members, and maybe even yourself.
Eat Healthy, Be Active
Would you like help to attain and maintain a healthy body weight, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and learn to live a healthier lifestyle? Then join us for this six-week interactive workshop series based on the Dietary and Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans. The six workshops are: “Enjoy Healthy Food That Tastes Great”, “Quick, Healthy Meals and Snacks”, “Eating Healthy on a Budget”, “Tips for Losing Weight and Keeping It Off”, “Making Healthy Eating Part of Your Total Lifestyle”, and “Physical Activity is Key to Living Well”. Healthy snacks will be provided and a Certificate of Completion will be given to participants who attend all six sessions
Sex, Consent, and You
Is it rape if someone says “no” after sex has begun? Can a person who is under the influence of alcohol or other drugs give legal consent for sex? Does “no” ever mean “yes”? Consent is the key to preventing sexual assault. Find out what you and your friends need to know about consent and preventing sexual assault.
TiPS for the University
TiPS for the University is a fun, interactive alcohol awareness program that teaches students how to intervene when their friends are drinking too much or are headed for trouble due to alcohol. Join us and get tips for making your summer healthier. Healthy snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.
